The actress Helen Mirren who has just won an Oscar for her portrayal of the Queen of England in the movie Queen, is not only a talented and smart woman she is a woman with pride and dignity.

A few months before the Oscars, Mirren was approached by several sources offering her plastic surgery so she could improve her appereance before the big day, where millions of spectators and beauty critics alike would be gawking and looking for something to critize, but she kindly refused stating that she rather use jewelry and clothing that suited her in order to look her best.

I´m glad to hear that there are a couple celebrities out there who are not afraid to show their age and are able to stand tall felling and looking their best. Age is an internal ingredient that should not be judged.

Could looking your age be a bad thing?

Posted by ferran on 14 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: Beauty, The Loveantiaging way of life

It seems that nowadays if you are more than 40 years old you and you haven´t had any type of plastic surgery you are a bit of an oddiitie. At about 30 years old women, more than men start to worry about their appearance and run to their nearest plastic surgeon, start applying anti-aging creams or simply don´t do anything at all and let time take its course on their bodies.

I think anti-aging is a word we are pretty much used to by now but it might mean different things to different people. We are confusing this word, to me anti-aging is something we do to fix our insides and that in turn helps our overall outer appearance. If you take care of yourself there is no need to have the face of a 20 year old girl when you are about to turn 50.

Anti-Anging is a state of mind, it is the perception we have of our lives. If you are happy with yourself don´t let magazines, television or your friends convince you that you need a lifting.

In this blog we talk a lot about how to take care of ourselves, and the worries we have about getting older. Many of us don´t really start to worry about our looks or health until we are in our 30´s and we start to see how fast time really goes. but all this needs to start sooner, we need to start education our children on how to live a healthy lifestyle without letting them get obsesses with their body image. Each one of us are special beings in our own way and need to remember that. We need to continue educating them and give them lost of love and support to allow them to grow up to be healthy individuals in body and mind.

Posted by ferran on 07 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: Health, The Loveantiaging way of life

When you decide it is time to visit an anti-aging clinic so you can let the experts help you set up a nutritional diet, vitamins and overall change your lifestyle, you need to make sure you are going to a professional place.

The first thing you need to do is investigate the clinic you wish to visit. Nowadays, almost all clinics have their own web sites where you can get all the information you need as well as view pictures of the clinic. Don´t be afraid to call them and asked them all the questions that are on your mind.

La Clinique de Paris in Alicante is one of the best anti-aging clinics in Europe, with educated professionals that will help you with anything you need. It is the best example of what an anti-again clinic should be.

Menopause, the beginning of the aging process?

Posted by ferran on 05 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: The Loveantiaging way of life

Many women view menopause as “the change”, and from this change everything is different, it takes a turn and we start to slowly age. Menopause is a natural process that happens to all women. Typically between the ages of 42 and 56, menopause can begin. The production of estrogen and progesterone starts to slow down and menstruation eventually stops.

This is in no way a disease but more a biological transition. Some of the symptoms are weight gain, depression, insomnia, fatigue, short term memory problems, or itchy skin. This year I turn the dreaded 40 and although I´m a bit nervous I’m ready to face this new stage in my life. Nowadays we have many herbal remedies, hormone therapies or ancient cures that can help us ease the pain.

I think that as with everything in this life, it could affect you good or bad depending on your state of mind and how you have taken care of your body. Menopause is not the end of your life, it is a wonderful beginning we should embrace and welcome in like a good friend.

the-secret.jpg

A friend sent me a link to a web page called the secret. Since my curiosity is stronger than my will, I had no choice but to go to the web page and find out what this secret was. I love anything that has to do with improving your well being by ways of positive and forward thinking. Reading about the secret, I realized this was something that was getting a lot of attention and becoming a trend. Oprah Winfrey dedicated the entire hour segment of her show to “the secret”, so now I know it is something to look in to.The secret talks about the laws of attraction. If you wish for something hard enough, you just need to visualize it, keep an open and positive mind and you will acquire it. Seems, pretty straight forward but like anything it is easier said than done. I figure you have nothing to lose by visualizing, you could visualize a healthy body, mind, anything you want.

The anti-aging way of life is much more than just the physical, it needs to start from the inside, from our mind. I will try to visualize a flawless complexion, a healthy body fit and beautiful. What will you visualize?
