Everyday I find a new technology that promises to help us in one way of another and each one is just stranger and more odd than the next. For example, I introduce you the BOD POD, a capsule that looks more like a mini space ship. Bod Pod, helps measure your body composition to determine your fat and lean mass.
If you weight yourself on a regular old scale you will only obtain your weight in number but a scale can´t tell the difference between fat and muscle pounds. You could be gaining fat and losing muscle but still have the same weight. Bod Pod, helps determine what percentage of fat you have and what risks you run of getting diseases such as diabetes, heart disease or even cancer.
You could buy this contraption and use it at home, but for the $42,000 it costs and the bulkiness, I think you might be better of going to a professional who owns this machine and could guide you to a new you.

Today I read an article in the newspaper that stated that doctors are diagnosing more and more cases of orthorexia every day. What is Orthorexia?
Wikipedia describes it as a term coined by Dr. Steven Bratman, a Colorado MD, to denote an eating disorder characterized by a fixation on eating what the sufferer considers to be healthful food, which can ultimately lead to early death.
Food obsession and too much health obsession can affect all of us. I admit I have a couple of the signs of this disorder, I worry about what I eat and I feel very guilty when I indulge in things I know are not good for me. But at the end of the day I feel very good about myself and I know if I live a healthy life in moderation that is all that matters.
So if you find yourself obsessing about this post, relax and trust yourself, use your intuition and live life to the fullest without going overboard with the healthy stuff.

Soy and soy products have an extraordinary nutritional power, and more and more nutritionist are figuring this out and studying its health benefits. If you haven´t tasted soy, I think its about time you start learning a little more about it.
soy not only contains isovaflones that can be found only in plants and contain a high antioxidant power. what does this all mean?, well, it means that these little beans can help guard your skin against free radicals, which are the little critters that pollute or skin and make us age faster.
Aside from that, which to me is one of the most important assets of this little miracle bean, Soy also helps prevent heart disease, protects you from cancer, counteracts the effects of endometriosis, prevents prostate problems, helps with osteoporosis, controls menopause symptoms, and helps diabetes. What else do you want?
So, start adding soy to your everyday diet and you will start to see its benefits.

Well, if you haven´t heard about this fruit yet, it´s time you track it down and try it. It looks very much like cherries but they are a little softer and have a more citrus taste. They are native to South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
This fruit is different from the rest because it is said to contain more than 65% more vitamin C than an orange. It also contains vitamins B1, B2, niacin, and potassium among other nutrients. How can such a little thing be so potent? In many parts of the world acerolas are used as anti inflammatory, astringents, fungecide and much, much more.
Ask your local grocer where you can get some and start to enjoy the benefits today.

Imagine that after your long search for the perfect diet someone tells you all you need to do in find our what your blood type is and follow the new blood type diet, eating foods that correspond to your individual group.
Peter D´Adano a doctor recognized as the leader investigator in this field, has determined that each blood type group needs to eat certain foods that correlate to their particular group.
Group O (there I´m) is said to be the oldest group around, these individuals should eat plenty or red meat and avoid bread, group A are called vegetarians, they should avoid red met but enjoy fruits and vegetables, Dairy is the chosen food for group B who are called omnivorous, and finally group AB who have a combination of A and B and go by the name of modern omnivorous should limit their chicken intake.
I find this all very interesting and think it doesn´t hurt to try.

Don´t be fooled by the colorful packaging, for now it is better to drink water when you are really thirsty, you can drink this new drink now and then to get a refreshing feeling but remember that water not only takes away your thirst it also helps remove impurities from your body not put more in it.

I’m not sure about this one but it is my responsibility to inform all of you of all the new health trends out there. Well, this one deals with a pill called sugarest which comes from the herb Gymnema silvestre that within a few moments of ingesting helps remove the sugar taste from sweet foods.
Gonotec Nutritional the manufacturer of these pills states that for 20 to 30 minutes after taking the pill you will lose all taste of sugar which will help reduce sugar cravings. Ok, fine, then what happens when the 20 minutes are over? I would have to take these pills every half hour for the rest of my life!
Good try, but like we all know eating a balanced diet in moderation is all we need. a craving now and then is fine, who would want to get rid off the pleasures of something so good as a sugar high.
