The other day I wrote a post regarding the age when anti-aging should begin and my thoughts on the matter were that as a child we need to start the anti-aging process for it to have any meaning. As parents we need to educate our children and teach them how to take care of themselves.
Well, bodymechanics a mix between a videogame and cartoons in which kids need to fight the bad guys such as cholesterol, fatty substances and anything that has to do with overweight has the right idea. Without knowing it kids learn about exercise and nutrition while they are having fun.
But like everything, there needs to be limits, spending hours in front of a video game is part of the main cause of overweight children.

It is proven that losing weight is getting more and more difficult with the passage of time. In my 20’s I could eat all I wanted and not exercise and still manage to lose weight, in my 30’s I realized I needed to control my appetite a little bit and exercise moderately but now almost 40 I see that if I don’t exercise every single day and stop eating I’m not losing anything except my mind.
But, does this happen to you, the more I exercise the hungrier I’m, so then I eat more and basically all the exercise I have done evens out and I can’t lose weight.. but the other day I read and article that conducted a study of people who did exercise right after eating and even though they were hungry after they were done they were able to burn off more calories that those who did not exercise right after eating. So I guess there is still hope for me.
I will continue to eat and exercise and see what happens.

My daughter the other day came up to me and asked me to play jump rope with her. It had been years seen I had jumped rope and forgot how good it felt to get your body moving. Without knowing it, you are jumping like a child, having fun not realizing you are burning calories and actually working out. I admit it is a little complicated for little ones and older ones like myself but with a little practice you become a pro and before you know it you are not sharing your jump rope with your child.. (don´t worry, we took turns)
You can use any old jump rope you have at home but if you really want to get into it there is a company called jumpsnap that offers you the latest’s in jump rope equipment. This new and advance jump rope allows you to monitor the number of jumps, time you have been jumping, how many calories you are burning.. all displayed in the handle of this very handy little machine. You can program all your personal information, so you can see your success rate.
We have come a long way from the silly old jump rope, but either way, jump as you will but just jump for your health.

We sometimes ask ourselves which is the best time to exercise. I don´t really have a lot of energy very early in the morning but it is said that it is the best time to get your body moving.
Even though you may have to work and have the responsibility of taking care of your family it shouldn’t´t be an excuse to exercise in the morning. If you wake up half an hour or an hour earlier you can take advantage of the entire day.
Morning exercise gives you a shot of energy that lasts all day long, it regulates your appetite, it adjusts biological rhythms, improves your mental state and helps you burn more calories than at any other time.
Worth it huh?, I think so, even though it is easier said than done with a little effort it might also be easier than you think.

Do you remember what you had for dinner last night? How about what you ate last week? My memory is not what it once was, and I have no clue what I just ate a few minutes ago but if you are trying to lose a few pounds or just trying to improve your daily nutrition keeping a food diary could really help you.
You can purchase food journals online or simply create one yourself on a spreadsheet. Here you can list all the foods you intake, the calories, frequency, and you can slowly start to see patterns in your eating habits that may not be so good. You will be surprised at how you treat your body, on a daily basis.
I personally don’t have a lot of time and I’m not sure I could do this, but I think a couple of minutes a day could help me in the long run see patterns that I want to change.

What a fantastic idea. Sign me up please. The Amansala hotel in Mexico offers a 6 day package in its spa so you are able to prepare your body for summer time. They call it bikini bootcamp and space is limited to only 25 people. This is one of the best offers I have seen in years.
Your days here will begin with a jog around the beach, aerobic classes and then end up with yoga or pilate classes. The food served is strictly diet based with fresh fish, fruit and vegetables. Your stay here will not be all work though, you can also enjoy day trips around the city and its surroundings, get a massage or simply relax in an environment that will give you enough strength for the next day.
I think this is something we should all give a try if we can. Now you can feel guilt free when you go on vacation, knowing that you are taking care of your health.

Ok, I now think I have seen all there is to see. I love to find new innovative ways to stay in shape and I think this is one of the most interesting ideas yet. It is not for everyone but for those of you who are a little bored with your daily exercise routine and want to try something a little more daring and interesting here is your thing. You can sign up to the new type of yoga called Aerial yoga in studios in New York or North Carolina.
This new style of yoga is called Unnata Aeral Yoga and it uses the same asanas you find in your typical yoga class but combines it with acrobatic movements that help further stretch and flex your muscles, giving your body more freedom and strength. No prior experience is required all you need is the willingness to try something new and fun.
The word Unnata means elevated in Sankrist and that is what this type of yoga is able to give you. It will not only elevate you physically but also spiritually. Your body will relax with the free movements and you will be able to balance your body.
Another activity I will have to try, I think I will be very busy this year.
