Sheila Kelly´s S Factor, Not what you think

Posted by ferran on 30 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: exercie

In this blog we have talked about all types of exercises that are unconventional such as aerial yoga , and now I present to you a new way of staying in shape. It is called “S Factor“, a type of exercise that is done with the use of a pole, sort of what strippers use to do their erotic dances, which evidently helps tone almost every muscle of your body while you do acrobatics.

The person responsible for this new trend is actress Sheila Kelly who comments:

“The S Factor is about women rediscovering their own shapes and their muscles, overtly, playfully and unabashedly. We’re teaching women a body language they’ve been told not to explore.”

A woman´s sexuality is something that should not be inhibited, sexuality makes us feel alive and feminine, it gives us strength to become sensuous and passionate beings. The exercise method for this new type of movement is done in phases, you learn little by little until you finally reach the final climax.

Tea that decorates your life

Posted by ferran on 29 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: food, Health

We are all convinced by now that red and green tea are good for our health. These teas help maintain our bodies healthy, they help keep up is shape and have antitoxin properties that add to our antiaging fight.

Now there is a new (well, new for us) tea method that is not only original but also decorative. It is a simple process that starts with a flower bud that contains different types of tea, that once introduced to hot water it slowly starts to open up to a beautiful flower. Once the flower has bloomed, you are ready to enjoy your tea.

A great idea, I think I will invite all my friends to enjoy an original cup of tea while at the same time see nature at work. There are several companies that offer this type of tea such as Teagu, chinasecret or worldpantry.

Shu Uemura perfect make up and treatments

Posted by ferran on 28 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: Beauty, beauty products

Shu Uemura a makeup artist that started his career in 1955 as makeup artist to famous stars in Hollywood, introduced his first beauty product to the market in 1960 called “unmask cleansing oil” and has since perfected his art into marvelous products. His experience with make-up and complimentary creams for a flawless look gives women that perfect aura.

All his products are thought with the beauty of a woman in mind. Shu understands that the face needs to be prepared to receive the make up we introduce it to and that begins with controlled skin care, creams and special treatments that allow make-up to glide on to our skin.

What I love most of this line of cosmetics is the efficiency they provide. The skin care line as well as the make up is priced just right so that anyone can enjoy the final results that a true make up line should provide.

Diet Coke Plus, the new soft drink with vitamins?

Posted by ferran on 26 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: food

Next month Coca Cola will introduce to the market their new product called Diet Coke Plus which will be the first diet soft drink enhanced with vitamins and minerals. I ask myself why? Let´s see here, I think by now we all know that any type of soft drink diet or not, is just not great for our health, no matter how many vitamins and minerals you add to the mix.

I understand that Coke wants to compete in this latest health craze that has consumed the market lately but why not invent something actually healthy and not lie to consumers with products pretending to be good for them (just my opinion). The only thing I try to transmit through this blog is buyer beware, don´t let the marketing tricks of huge companies pull you in to their lies and drag you down the wrong health path.

Stevia and Xylitol alternatives to sugar

Posted by ferran on 23 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: food, Health

Medical studies indicate that sugar may be a factor that ages the skin..NO.. don´t tell me that.. I love sugar.. well, there are alternatives out there that are said to be better for you and should be tried..

Stevia and Xylitol (sugar sounds much better) are herbs that taste a lot like sugar but don´t harm you as much. Stevia can be found in diet drinks and does not increase your sugar levels as honey might. Xylitol is very similar to sugar in sight and specially taste, and is also great for teeth, it is found as an ingredient in many toothpastes.

These variants of sugar are a little more expensive but they are worth it if they are able to keep us healthy longer. For baking, sugar is still the best alternative just remember my favorite words.. moderation..

Jumping Rope is not a child’s play anymore

Posted by ferran on 20 Mar 2007 | Tagged as: exercie, getting in shape

My daughter the other day came up to me and asked me to play jump rope with her. It had been years seen I had jumped rope and forgot how good it felt to get your body moving. Without knowing it, you are jumping like a child, having fun not realizing you are burning calories and actually working out. I admit it is a little complicated for little ones and older ones like myself but with a little practice you become a pro and before you know it you are not sharing your jump rope with your child.. (don´t worry, we took turns)

You can use any old jump rope you have at home but if you really want to get into it there is a company called jumpsnap that offers you the latest’s in jump rope equipment. This new and advance jump rope allows you to monitor the number of jumps, time you have been jumping, how many calories you are burning.. all displayed in the handle of this very handy little machine. You can program all your personal information, so you can see your success rate.

We have come a long way from the silly old jump rope, but either way, jump as you will but just jump for your health.
